warrington_runcorn_ntdp is a new fan-run community focused on the music of electronic project Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan.

Anyone is free to join, even those who have never listened before! Although if that is you, I'd recommend checking out the project's Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and Youtube to get acquainted :D

Discussion on the community will include, but is not limited to, avourite songs/albums/album artwork, physical media, how you discovered the music, recommendations for similar music, etc.

The current rules are pretty standard: no harassment/discrimination against any other Dreamwidth users; no NSFW/explicit content unless it's directly connected to the community's theme; and please keep any posts/comments on topic as much as possible. Anything else can be decided on in the future.

withnailandi is a community for everything related to Withnail & I (1987). Fanworks/recommendations, meta/discussions, whatever, all are welcome here! Another related community is

Age: I was on LJ in the early 2000s if that tells you anything

I mostly post about: IRL things currently, but I might post thoughts about media I consume or happenings in the world occasionally. I don't really post fannish things often even though there are fandoms I enjoy. Most of my journal is currently public.

My hobbies are: reading, tinkering, learning languages (Spanish primarily), video games, listening to podcasts and being in nature when the weather and my body allow for it.

My fandoms are: Star Trek (TNG, DS9, VOY primarily), Baldur's Gate 3, Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Orville, The Sims and similar games (I am so excited for Paralives y'all).

I'm looking to meet people who: Post about their lives and passions. I enjoy hearing about hobbies and interests, even if they aren't my own.

My posting schedule tends to be: I strive for at least weekly, sometimes more sometimes less.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Racism, sexism, transphobia, queerphobia, fundamentalism or anything supporting the fascists.

Before adding me, you should know: I'm neurodivergent and mostly anti-AI. LLM technology has its place, but in its current form I feel it has been actively harmful for humanity and is being used as a giant grift by tech oligarchs. It is most definitely not a replacement for human created art and knowledge.

The spring season starts in about two-and-a-half weeks. What are y'all looking forward to?

I am very hyped for the new Ascendance of a Bookworm season.

More guardedly looking forward to Witch Hat Atelier. I've heard good things about the manga and it seems likely to be up my alley but I've never read it so I don't know.

I'm also always up for a fun "villainess" show and I'm seeing a couple of those to check out.

Summary: Kagaribi is on the run with Rindou and Shisui, quite successfully pretending not to be falling in love if he says so himself. But when Mozu's cat appears, Kagaribi knows this is the end - the village's executioner has finally come for him. Except that Mozu is nowhere to be seen…

Kagaribi can betray their village, but he could never betray Mozu. Even if that means giving up on his chance at the scam called love… Rindou and Shisui, however, do not seem particularly impressed with his plan to leave them behind.

While these are my main ships in haikyuu, I have read all sorts of ships and if the story is well-written I will read most ships for haikyuu. Miya Atsumu/ Suna Rintarou (haikyuu) is my ultimate long standing favourite though.

I also have ships that have stuck around even tho I'd say I have left the fandom, mainly Voltron and BNHA, I left BNHA cause I dropped the show years ago and now only read fics of a couple of my favourite pairings that don't go into the actual plot of the show (I do not plan to pick it back up). Whereas with Voltron I was there as the last season at least was dropping but I only go back occasionally only for certain tropes or certain ships.

These ships are primarily, Bakugou Katsuki/Kaminari Denki (BNHA), Lance/Shiro (Voltron).

I like to post about: I've been posting my fanfiction so far, may post some original work, may post some reviews of whatever I'm watching or whatever, may post about stuff that comes up as I learn Japanese that I find interesting.
About Me/Other Info: I'm a writer, read a lot of BL manga and watch BL shows. I love mind reading and fake dating as tropes, especially. I dabble in truth potion/serum works quite a bit too. (If I'm being honest, in most of the fandoms I read for I've read almost every mind reading fic on ao3 and even started just reading random pairings for fandoms I'm not in just cause I wanted to read mind reading as a trope)

I would love to brainstorm haikyuu fanfic with others, or talk about the show especially.

I'm going to be doing a little maintenance today. It will likely cause a tiny interruption of service (specifically for www.dreamwidth.org) on the order of 2-3 minutes while some settings propagate. If you're on a journal page, that should still work throughout!

If it doesn't work, the rollback plan is pretty quick, I'm just toggling a setting on how traffic gets to the site. I'll update this post if something goes wrong, but don't anticipate any interruption to be longer than 10 minutes even in a rollback situation.

I... think I'm caught up with Dreamwidth? If you were expecting a reply from me, let me know because I missed it! The exception is the replies to my latest K-9 translation post because I'm saving them for the next time I'm bursting with the need to talk about K-9 with someone and can't find any ~~victim~~ gentleperson to satisfy the hunger.

Anyway, writing! WIPs! Status!! I met my GYWO goal in January and February, but sacrificed March to the editing gods. So I've written... 288 words so far 😤😤 Unless I get possessed I am NOT meeting my monthly goal, but that's okay. I've got more stuff to edit!! And some fics ready to post, too.

A BNHA NagantMiruko fic I wrote nearly 3 years ago for an event that turned out not to happen, and I think it might be time to move on

I did a first round of editing to the end, and while in my head the last chapter was clunky (probably because I've changed direction on it about 3 times now), actually I was giggling and hiding my mouth behind my hand through most of it so I think it's okay :D The final sentence/paragraph however is clunky and doesn't work super well, but I have a bit of time to figure out something else.

Each chapter has a different PoV as each character figure some things out, and I like the story and how they all gravitate toward each other. However, the tone and narration are a bit distant, maybe a bit flat. It's the same mistake? flaw? that I saw in my OT3/multi-polyship Kn8 fic, where I was also spending a lot of brain power on "How would these characters fit together?". Maybe this is expected for the first few fics with a new ship. When I compare with DabiHawks for which I've written well over 100 fics (and over 200 with Hawks!), obviously I can't nail every nuance and subtlety of their emotions as easily. Yet. Anyway I still think there's good in there and I'm happy I wrote this :D I enjoy these characters so much.

Jan 16: Black Phone 2, rollicking good fun, absolutely hilarious, new favorite horror movie. When the Grabber came out on his sinister little ice skates I fell in love.
Jan 17: American Psycho, fav. Finally made Rich watch it.
Jan 18: Longlegs, which I love but STILL doesn't stick in my memory after multiple rewatches. I'm astonished to see it here and realize I've rewatched it that recently.
Jan 31: What Lies Beneath, with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. Ghost movie. Very long and a bit tedious at times but I'd still call it a bit of a forgotten gem. The way Ford is written as an abusive husband is perf, and to me at least it reads like real lived experience from the writer.

Feb 04: Bomb Hunters, documentary on Cambodian scrappers.
Feb 04: Iron Lung, Markiplier's new movie.
Feb 06: Shadow Magic, Chinese film from 2001-ish about the introduction of silent films to China.

Feb 16: Blades of Glory, yeah the ice skating movie with Will Ferrell. Unabashed fan of this film. The real Yuri on Ice.
Feb 19: Power of the Dog rewatch. FFFFFUCK it's so good.
Feb 20: South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. Genuinely, the musical sequences are so skilled.
Feb 22: 8 Seconds (the Lane Frost story).
Feb 24: The Endurance (documentary)
Feb 27: The Quick and the Dead - the made-for-TV HBO Western with Sam Elliott, 1987. Not the Sam Raimi one from 95.
Feb 27: This Boy's Life, AMAZING EXPERIENCE watching this with my dad and listening to him giggle at all the sad parts.
Feb 28: Dead of Winter. Not fantastic but worth a watch. Basic thriller with admirable pretensions to art.
Feb 28: Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Yuri on Asphalt. Did NOT remember the fully passionate French kiss between Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell at the end.

Watching the live-action movie motivated me to finally edit this fic! It doesn't actually work with the movie timeline and heavily relies on anime-only elements, but it is done :D

Summary: Kyouji has been in this time loop for a long time now, meeting Satomi and growing closer over and over, trying to keep him safe. Failing, sometimes. Those are the Bad Loops. If he plays his cards right though, Kyouji hopes he can make this loop the final one.
